Sunday Gatherings

Sunday Worship Service

SERVICES

We gather together each Sunday to worship God, hear His word for us from the Bible, and celebrate the gospel of grace.

WHEN AND WHERE?

We meet in the Uptown neighborhood of Albuquerque near the ABQ Uptown shopping area.  Our address is 2520 Chama St. NE.  For a map click on the "directions" tab at the top right of the page.  The main service starts at 10:30am and runs about 90 minutes.  Bible study for kids and adults happens before the main service, beginning at 9:23am.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We have a few folks who are dress more formally, some that wear shorts and flip flops, and others that are "in between".  Come how you feel comfortable.

WHAT DO I DO WITH MY KIDS?

During Bible Study time (9:23-10:15), we offer age-specific classes for kids.   We also have a nursery for infants/toddlers.  We perform ongoing training and background checks for volunteers.

During Service (10:30-12:00):  we offer children's classes for ages 0-5.  Most older kids stay with their parents during service.  This is flexible for individual needs.

WHAT IS A SERVICE LIKE?

The order-of-service, song lyrics, and responses are projected on screens at the front of the Sanctuary.

  • Call to worship - an invitation from God's word to come before Him.

  • Recognition of our need for God - humbling ourselves before God and confession of falling short of loving Him wholly and others perfectly.

  • The declaration of grace! God's word reminds us that there is forgiveness those who have fallen short, but rest in who Christ is and His finished work.

  • Reciting what we believe through Creed.

  • Bible readings

  • Proclamation of God's word (Sermon)

  • Corporate prayer (Prayers of the people)

  • The Lord's supper - open to those who have put their faith in Jesus. Participants step to the front, row-by-row, to receive the bread and wine. Cups of wine available for dipping the bread into or separate cups for sipping (depending on your preference). The bread is gluten free.

  • The final Benediction - A reminder of who we are as believers in Jesus. A blessing to carry the gospel of grace with us as we go.

  • Lots of songs and hymns throughout.

After service we have some snacks and drinks available for kiddos and adults.  It's a time to meet someone new, catch up with friends, share burdens and joys, and have some nachos.
